Hudson served the Revenue Cutter Service, the U. S. Navy and the Coast Guard.

Revenue Cutter:

  • The second Hudson was built in 1893 by John H. Dialogue, Camden, NJ
  • Commissioned USRC Hudson 17 August 1893
  • Transferred to the Navy 24 March 1898 and commissioned USS Hudson
  • Returned to the Treasury Department 21 August 1898 at Savannah, GA
  • Transferred to the Navy 6 April 1917
  • Returned to the Treasury Department 28 August 1919 as USCGC Hudson
  • Decommissioned 3 May 1935 and sold
  • Fate unknown.

  • Displacement 128 t.
  • Length 94' 6¼"
  • Beam 20' 6"
  • Draft 10' 3"
  • Speed 12 kts.
  • Complement 11
  • Armament: Two 6-pounder Driggs-Schroeder rapid fire guns and one Model 1895 Colt automatic machine gun
  • Propulsion: One triple-expansion reciprocating steam engine, one shaft.
