Van Straelen Class Inshore Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 27 April 1959 under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program by De Vries Lentsch, Amsterdam, Holland
  • Launched 28 May 1960
  • Commissioned HNLMS Van Hamel (M 871), 14 November 1960
  • Struck from the Dutch Navy list, sold to Peru for ƒ425,000 Dutch Guilders and renamed RPS Carillo (AH 175), 23 February 1984
  • Fate unknown.

    MSI-6 8k Kapitein-luitenant ter zee Second Class (KLTZ2) Lodewijk van Hamel. 6 June 1915 - 16 June 1941, was a member of the Dutch resistance during the Second World War. He was the first secret agent who was dropped from England in the Netherlands, on 27 August 1940 but was discovered and shot. His resistance name was Willem van Dalen Arie van Mazijk
