AMS-254 Class Motor Minesweeper: Laid down as Motor Minesweeper, AMS-224 by Felix Amyot, Cherbourg, France under the off-shore procurement plan of the Military Defense Assistance Pact; Reclassified by U. S. Navy as a Coastal Minesweeper, MSC-224, 7 February 1955; Launched 23 May 1955; Completed 9 August 1955 as Persée (M 748); Commissioned 13 July 1956. Fate unknown.
Specifications: Displacement 380 t.; Length 145' 5"; Beam 27'; Draft 8' 5"; Speed 15 kts; Complement 48; Armament two 20mm; Propulsion Mercedes-Benz diesel engines, 4,000shp, two shafts.
