Armada only served in the Soviet Navy

Admirable Class Minesweeper:

  • Originally planned as Armada (AMc 122)
  • Reclassified AM-145, 21 February 1942
  • Laid down 18 October 1942 by the Tampa Shipbuilding Co., Tampa, FL
  • Launched 7 December 1942
  • Completed 16 September 1943, transferred to the Soviet Union and reclassified T-118
  • Assigned to the Northern Fleet 29 February 1944
  • Torpeoded and sunk in the Kara Sea 13 August 1944 by the German submarine U-365 (sinking not reported to the U.S. Navy)
  • Reclassified by U.S. Navy as a Fleet Minesweeper (Steel Hull, MSF-145, 7 February 1955
  • Struck from the Navy Register 1 January 1983.

  • Length 184' 6"
  • Beam 33'
  • Draft 9' 9"
  • Speed 14.8 kts.
  • Complement 85
  • Armament: Two 3"/50 dual purpose gun mounts, eight 20mm gun mounts, two 7.63mm Browning machine guns, one depth charge projector (hedgehogs), and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,710shp ALCO 539 diesel engines, Farrel-Birmingham single reduction gear, two shafts.
