A native of Cranston, RI, Captain Loiselle graduated from Assumption College in 1988 with a degree in Mathematics. He was commissioned through the NROTC program at Holy Cross. He earned his Wings of Gold in January, 1991.
After training in the F-14 Tomcat, his first assignment was with the Ghostriders of VF-142 where he made the maiden deployment of the USS George Washington and served in both the Kosovo and Iraq theaters of operation. After training in the FA-18C Hornet, he reported to VX-9 in China Lake, CA where he served as the Foreign Material Exploitation Branch Head.
Successful carrier qualifications in the Hornet led CAPT Loiselle to his department head tour with the Chippies of VFA-195 in Atsugi, Japan in 1998. He served as the Safety, Maintenance and Operations Officer and deployed numerous times aboard USS Kitty Hawk. In 2001, he reported to VFA-125 in Lemoore, CA and served as both the Training Officer and Executive officer. While attached there, he earned an Executive Masters in Business Administration through the Naval Postgraduate School.
Captain Loiselle reported as XO of the Blue Diamonds of VFA-146 in May of 2004. He took command in September of 2005. During this tour, he deployed aboard USS Carl Vinson and conducted work ups on USS John C. Stennis. During this tour, he was selected for the Aviation Nuclear Power program.
In December of 2006, he reported to Nuclear Power School in Charleston, SC. After graduating with honors, he reported aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt as XO and immediately deployed. After deployment, the ship entered Refueling Complex Overhaul in Newport News, VA.
Subsequent to this tour, he was assigned to US Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, which subsequently became the J31 on the Joint Staff. He served as the Division Chief for Global Force Management.
Captain Loiselle has accumulated over 3400 mishap free flight hours and has more than 840 arrested landings. His personal awards include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medals, Navy Commendation Medals (1 with Combat V) and the Navy Achievement Medal, in addition to numerous unit and campaign citations.
