 Afloat, the inflated LCT provided complete deception as indicated in this photo. Thus, a package of "rubber" sacks and shapes constructed in Goodyear's balloon room at Akron, Ohio, when assembled on English beaches, confounded the German High Command, contributed to D-Day success |
 As assembly of parts was completed the inflatable, decoy "Landing Craft, Tank" began to assume shape as air was injected into its various compartments |
 When inflation of the LCT was completed, launching was a simple task for the handful of men who had assembled and rigged the bulky but light, air-filled "invasion craft". |
