At sea, he has served as a Division Officer on USS COLUMBIA (SSN 771), Engineer Officer on USS PITTSBURGH (SSN 720), and Executive Officer on USS GREENEVILLE (SSN 772). His ships have deployed to the Arabian Gulf, Western Pacific, and U.S. Southern Command Areas of Responsibility.
Ashore, he has served as the Assistant Force Nuclear Power Officer on the staff of Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Submarine Squadron ONE Engineer and Material Officer; and most recently as the Special Assistant for Enlisted Plans, Policy, and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Training to the Deputy Director of Naval Reactors.
Frank Cable is forward deployed to Guam. Alarcon reports to Guam after serving as the Deputy Director of Intelligence for Battlespace Awareness and Special Programs on the staff of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet.
CAPT Alarcon is honored to wear the Battle Efficiency Award and the four Meritorious Unit Commendations that his shipmates have earned over the years. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), and Navy Achievement Medal (three awards).
