Ex-USS Kittiwake (ASR-13) as she lay anchored on the south side of Grand Cayman on Tuesday, 29 December 2010. Winds from the north, prevented ex-Kittiwake from being anchored on the west side of the island where the port is. For that same reason the cruise ships lay anchored on the south side as well. Note cruise ships in background. The tug America towed her to the Cayman Islands and was still with her when these photos were taken. Ex-Kittiwake was to be sunk on 5 January 2011. |
