LASH Cargo Ship:
  • Laid down, 6 September 1974, as Green Valley a Maritime Administration type (C9-S-81f) Lighterage Aboard Ship (LASH) Cargo Ship, at Avondale Industries, New Orleans, LA.
  • Launched and delivered in 1974 to the Maritime Administration for operation by Central Gulf Line
  • Renamed MV Button Gwinnett, 7 October 1980
  • Renamed MV Green VAlley, 12 March 1984
  • Chartered by the Military Sealift Command (MSC), 11 Octoer 1984 and placed in service as MV Green Valley (T-AK-2049)
  • MV Green Valley was assigned to Maritime Prepositioning Ship Squadron Two at Diego Garcia until 2001
  • Returned to her owners for scrapping upon completion of her contract with MSC
