  • Commissioned USS Charlevoix (AK-168), 1 February 1945, LT. George F. Vietor, USNR, in command
  • During World War II USS Charlevoix was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Decommissioned, 18 January 1946, at Norfolk, VA.
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 17 April 1946
  • Returned to the Maritime Commission, 25 January 1946 for lay up at the National Defense Reserve Fleet, James River Group, Lee Hall, VA.
