544k | CDR Timothy A. Rexrode. Rexrode is a native of Spencer, West Virginia and graduated with honors from West Virginia University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School. At sea, CDR Rexrode served as Division Officer onboard Gato (SSN 615), homeported in Groton, Connecticut, Engineer Officer onboard Olympia (SSN-717) homeported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Executive Officer onboard City of Corpus Christi (SSN-705) homeported in Guam. Additionally, he served as Submarine Liaison Officer to Commander, Destroyer Squadron SEVEN, embarked on Constellation (CV-64). Ashore, CDR Rexrode has served in the Joint Interoperability and Training Directorate (J-7) of the Joint Staff, as Flag Aide to the Director, Test, Evaluation and Technology Requirements in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, as Deputy Chief of Staff for Material and Logistics (N-4) for Commander, Submarine Group SEVEN and in the future operations and nuclear operations divisions of the Joint Functional Component Commander for Global Strike at United States Strategic Command. CDR Rexrode is a distinguished graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College, holding as Master’s in Military Studies, and holds a Master’s of Arts in Administration from Central Michigan University. He is a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College. CDR Rexrode assumed command of Missouri (SSN-780) on 10 July 2009. CDR Rexrode has been awarded the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in addition to various unit and personnel awards. | Photo courtesy Bill Gonyo. | ||

0878017 | 2.40k | As a part of the celebration of the Bicentennial of Missouri Statehood in August 2021 the Commissioning Committee obtained two 24-star American Flags, shipped them to Pearl, where CO Martinez (et.al) flew both flags on the submarine Missouri (SSN-780) and then went over to the Battleship Missouri (BB-63) and flew both flags on the Battleship. The one flag will be retained by the Submarine and kept in the Officer's Wardroom. The other is being shipped back to the Commissioning Committee where along with the documentation it will be donated to the Military Museum of Missouri at the Ike Skelton Training Site of the Missouri Army/Air National Guard.
