  • 21 October 1942: Launched and christened, sponsored by Mrs. John H. McQuilkin, wife of Lt. McQuilkin
  • 19 February 1943: Retained for use in the U.S. Navy and assigned her name
  • 03 April 1943: Commissioned, Cdr G. A. Parkinson, USNR, in command
  • 20 December 1945: Decommissioned at San Pedro, Cal. after 2.7 years of service
  • 08 January 1946: Struck from the NVR
  • 08 January 1947: Sold, scrapped

    1st Lt. Deeson, USAAF, is rescued from his survival raft after the crash at sea of the B-29 he served in.
