Note 1: PCU Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) was officially established 2 October 1987; CDR David P. Keller was designated Officer In Charge (OIC). CAPT J.J. Dantone, the first designated Commanding Officer (CO) reported aboard 14 December 1987 along with the Executive Officer (XO), CDR Stanley W. Bryant. CAPT Dantone was relieved as CO by CAPT Bryant (XO) on 26 September 1988, and transferred to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) as CO. CAPT Bryant was relieved by CAPT William B. Hayden on 13 December 1988 and reassumed the duties of XO.
